"Love is indeed the most powerful apologetic. It is the essential component in reaching the whole person in a fragmented world. The need is vast, but it is also imperative that we be willing to follow the example of our Lord and meet the need. What does this mean for us? It means giving a cup of cold water in the name of Jesus and telling the recipient to thank God and not man for that gift. Only eternity will reveal how deep and how real such an impact is, but our calling is clear: to let our light so shine that men, women, and children will see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven.

That is apologetics completed. That is confirming to the mind by the visible touch of the body. The mind is to the soul what the body is to the shadow. When we can touch both we have demonstrated the power of both thought and deed. It lifts the message out of the shadow and brings it into the light. Such is the power of love."

"Our greatest task as Christians is not arguing, reasoning, defending, or preaching, but living as Christ's Body, living the words we profess with a love for both Word and neighbor, and a clear vision of the God who spoke both of them into existence."

"In his message to the Athenians, Paul not only established a common ground, he grounded their differences in thoughts that included philosophers they respected. He saw them as neighbors. . . . Within this crowd of first century Greek philosophers, the unique apologetic challenges were many. But Paul's presentation was deftly suited to their specific worldviews, pursuits, and ideals. Far from using apologetics as weaponry, Paul spoke to a crowd who had invited him to answer their questions. He spoke not to obstacles or enemies, but to men and women made in the image of the very God he stood before them to proclaim."

"One of the most effective apologetics is a life lived for Christ. One of the more telling defenses of the Christian worldview is a life transformed and sustained by the presence of God....... Such lives also remind us that one of the key elements in considering the arguments of any truth claim is actually not an argument at all. Rather it is a question of pragmatics. Is this worldview livable? Can this philosophy be carried out? Stories of believers who are broken and persecuted but alive with the hope of Christ remind us that Christianity is not only a livable worldview, but a worldview that gives meaning to all of life.
